apibrėžtis Pirmoji Europoje gimnastikos sistema, kurią sukūrė švedas P. H. Lingas (1776–1839), atsižvelgęs į žmogaus organizmo ypatumus. Švedų fizinio auklėjimo sistema grindžiama senovės ir viduramžių Kinijos kūno kultūra. Pagrindinė jos koncepcija tokia: fizinis auklėjimas turi remtis tikrove, pažinimu, žmogaus anatomija ir biologija. Fizinius pratimus reikia parinkti ir taikyti taip, kad jie teigiamai veiktų organizmo funkcijas. Nuoseklus raumenų grupių įtraukimas į darbą, sunkesnių ir lengvesnių pratimų kaitaliojimas buvo labai pažangūs fizinio lavinimo bruožai. Norėta sukurti 4 rūšis fizinių pratimų: pedagoginių, karinių, gydomųjų ir estetinių. Švedų fizinio auklėjimo sistemoje dar nebuvo naudojami vadinamieji švediškieji prietaisai. Pagalbines priemones (sienelę, buomą, šuolių tramplyną, suolelį) sukūrė J. Lingas (1799–1881), švedų fizinio auklėjimo sistemos kūrėjo sūnus.
